Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly try to negotiate a discount with Juventus if they are to purchase Dejan Kulusevski outright.

The Sweden international was picked up in January 2022 on an 18-month loan deal worth €10m with an option to buy that would become an obligation if they qualified for the Champions League.

Seeing as Spurs missed out, they are in a position to haggle over that €35m purchase option. According to Calciomercato.com, the plan is to discuss reducing the fixed fee and instead translating that into performance-related bonuses. Juve are backed into a corner, as they are already bound to miss out on circa €150m this summer because the players they loaned out with option to buy have not been picked up.

So far, that includes Arthur Melo from Liverpool, Denis Zakara was at Chelsea and Weston McKennie is leaving relegated Leeds United. Kulusevski contributed only two goals and eight assists in all competition for Tottenham Hotspur this season.
