United States international Yunus Musah is reportedly set to take the No.80 shirt at AC Milan that has previously been worn by Ronaldinho.
The 20-year-old midfielder is closing in on a €20 million (£17m/$22m) transfer to San Siro from La Liga outfit Valencia. The highly-rated American is in Italy undergoing medical tests ahead of completing his switch from Spain.
Musah is poised to sign a five-year contract with the Rossoneri, with the USMNT star set to be reunited with fellow countryman Christian Pulisic in Milan. He will become the eighth signing wrapped up by the Serie A heavyweights this summer.
According to Calciomercato, Musah – who wore No.4 at Valencia – has stated a desire to take the No.80 shirt at Milan. The New York native is a big fan of former Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldinho – with the legendary Brazilian playmaker having filled the same jersey at San Siro between 2008 and 2011.
Musah’s stock has been on the rise for some time – with five goals and three assists recorded through 108 appearances for Valencia – and he will be hoping to make an immediate impact when following in the footsteps of his boyhood idol in Italy.
