According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Manchester United will place an opening bid to sign Inter goalkeeper André Onana by the end of the month, but the Nerazzurri want at least €50m.
The agents of the Cameroon international met the Red Devils’ directors on Thursday. According to Friday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (page 5), they informed the player’s representatives that an opening offer would be submitted by the end of the month.
The offer will be between €40m and €50m, which is Inter’s asking price. Onana joined Inter on a free transfer from Ajax last summer and kept 19 clean sheets in 41 appearances with the Nerazzurri in 2022-23. According to Gazzetta, Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag wants to reunite with his former keeper at Ajax, so the Red Devils have abandoned negotiations to extend David De Gea’s contract.
Inter substantially have no transfer budget, so they need to sell some of their players before completing new signings. Guglielmo Vicario was the designated replacement for Onana, but with the Italy international off to Tottenham, Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili and Bayern Munich’s Yann Sommer are now on Inter’s radars.
