Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was reportedly looking for PSG wonderkid Warren Zaire-Emery to be included in any deal for Bernardo Silva.
Portuguese playmaker Silva saw plenty of questions asked of his future at the Etihad Stadium during the summer transfer window. He was heavily linked with a move to Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain, while interest from La Liga title holders Barcelona is seemingly never far away.
City ended up fending off the admiring glances being shot in Silva’s direction and ultimately tied him down to a new contract that is due to run until 2026. Contingency plans were, however, drawn up in case the classy 29-year-old midfielder decided to move on.
According to RMC Sport, Guardiola made it clear that he wanted 17-year-old sensation Zaire-Emery to form part of any package that PSG put in place for Silva. The teenage midfielder is considered to be one of the hottest prospects in world football.
City may rekindle their interest in Zaire-Emery at a later date, as he continues to mature at an impressive rate at Parc des Princes. The youngster has already taken in 38 senior appearances for PSG, while also figuring for the France U21 side national team despite still being eligible for their U18 squad.
