In a thrilling Premier League showdown, Manchester City capitalized on a costly error from Chelsea goalkeeper Sanchez to secure a decisive 3-1 victory and reclaim their position at the top of the table.

Stamford Bridge was the stage for another electrifying clash between two Premier League heavyweights, but it was Manchester City who emerged victorious, defeating Chelsea 3-1 in a match filled with intensity and drama.

The turning point came early in the second half when Chelsea's goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez, mishandled a routine backpass, allowing Erling Haaland to intercept and slot the ball into the net. The error stunned the home crowd and shifted the momentum firmly in City's favor.

City opened the scoring in the 18th minute through a brilliant strike by Julian Alvarez, who curled the ball past Sanchez with precision. Chelsea responded with a well-taken goal by Raheem Sterling against his former club, leveling the match before halftime.

Pep Guardiola's men came out stronger in the second half, pressing Chelsea relentlessly. After Haaland’s goal, Phil Foden added a third with a clinical finish in the 76th minute, sealing the win for the reigning champions.

The victory takes Manchester City back to the top of the Premier League standings, one point clear of their closest rivals. Chelsea, meanwhile, faces increasing pressure as their inconsistent performances leave them languishing in mid-table.

Speaking after the game, Guardiola praised his team's resilience: "The players showed character, especially after conceding. We played as a team, and that made the difference."

On the other hand, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino expressed disappointment: "Mistakes happen, but at this level, they are costly. We need to learn and move forward."
