Lazio make offer for Santos striker Marcos Leonardo

Lazio are intensifying their attempts to bring in Santos centre-forward Marcos Leonardo, but have not yet reached the asking price.

Brazilian reports had already confirmed an interest in the 20-year-old talent last week and now Sky Sport Italia claim the Biancocelesti are pushing harder to make the deal stick.

Transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio maintains Lazio made an offer worth €10m, but that is still below the €13m that Santos want to part with the striker. He only recently signed a new contract to December 2026 and raised his profile while playing for Brazil at the Under-20 World Cup.

Marcos Leonardo scored nine goals and provided three assists in 24 official matches for Santos this season. The Aquile have qualified for the Champions League and need more options upfront, as Ciro Immobile’s injuries this season showed the difficulty Maurizio Sarri has filling in for his captain. There could also be more changes, as Pedro and Felipe Anderson have both received lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia.
