Inter are increasingly linked with a bid for Atalanta defender Merih Demiral, who could make the move on loan with an option to buy.
The Turkey international is not one of the first picks in Bergamo and has been pushing for the exit, but he might have to wait a while longer.
The Nerazzurri have other priorities right now, including completing the swoop for Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi – for €25m plus Samuele Mulattieri – and then getting Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea. Sportitalia and now also Sky Sport Italia claim that Demiral has been in preliminary talks with Inter after Cesar Azpilicueta decided to go to Atletico Madrid for free.
It will most likely be a loan with option to buy for Inter, as Demiral was purchased from Juventus for €21m last summer. Demiral is 25 years old and particularly strong when playing in a three-man defence, which makes him ideal for Simone Inzaghi’s Inter.
