Milan - Former Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli's attempt to overturn a soccer ban was denied on Friday by an Italian sports court. The ban stems from alleged irregularities in player payments during his decade-long tenure at the helm of the Serie A giants.

Agnelli, who resigned in November 2022 amidst a financial scandal, initially faced a 16-month ban, later reduced to 10 months. Meanwhile, Juventus accepted a 718,000 euro fine and a 10-point penalty for the past season as part of a settlement with Italian football authorities.

Agnelli's ban and the club's penalties mark a significant chapter in the recent struggles of Italy's most successful soccer team.

Juventus Respond

uventus maintains a neutral stance towards Mr. Agnelli's efforts to clear his name, acknowledging his past contributions while distancing itself from the controversial financial decisions at the end of his term. Agnelli's tenure as president saw both significant achievements, like the Next Gen team and J Medical Centre, and challenges arising from certain financial decisions. While a return to Juventus leadership appears improbable, his efforts to address the allegations remain ongoing.
